Tracy's Protein Shake Recipe
Start your morning with a large dose of sunshine. Try Tracy's recipe for a wholesome and tasty Protein Shake. It's packed with fruit, protein, oats and walnuts.
Stuff you need
Select Protein - Gourmet Vanilla
1 cup of almond milk
Half cup of oats
Quarter cup of walnuts - crushed the heck up
Apples - sliced and peeled
Tablespoon of maple syrup or alternative
Teaspoon of cinnamon
Tracy's method
"So add one cup of almond milk to your blender. Follow that up with one scoop of the protein powder - I'm using Select Gourmet Vanilla, and then add a half cup of oats. Now this part I love .... a quarter cup of walnuts. I place it in a Ziploc bag - and this part is therapeutic. Just pound my life away crushing walnuts.
Dump the quarter cup of crushed walnuts into the blender as well. Then you want to add your sliced apples. It'd be better to peel them next time but they were still very good.
Add a tablespoon of maple syrup. A teaspoon of cinnamon, cover your blender, mix it with lots of ice as well. And you are good to go.
This shake was introduced to me by my nutritionist and is made with the Select Gourmet Vanilla.
Enjoy!"
Tracy's Protein Pancakes
Stuff you need
Pancake mix
Select Gourmet Vanilla Protein powder
Cinnamon or nutmeg
One beaten egg (optional)
Teaspoon of vanilla essence
Three quarter cup of almond milk
Butter/Coconut oil
Tracy's Method
"This is definitely one of my favourites. I use the Kodiak cake pancake mix - that and then the scoop of the protein powder. I'm adding pumpkin spice you can use cinnamon or nutmeg alone, whichever one you choose.
Add one beaten egg (you don't have to add the egg) and about a teaspoon of vanilla essence... I am eyeballing it in the cap. I really should use the measuring spoons but after that, you add about a three quarter cup of almond milk. You can continue to add as you see fit, because some people make a thicker pancakes some people like a thinner pancake so you add your liquid to suit. That's the consistency that I make right there.
So let's go to the stove. I spray on some coconut oil and add the butter.
This makes about eight pancakes. And then I add some strawberries on top. Drizzle just a bit with some maple syrup. And there you go. It's actually very tasty."
